Information We Collect

The only personal information we collect for free accounts is your chosen username and your E-mail address. If you create a favorites list for a child we only accept a first name, and no other identifying information. None of this information is ever shared with any other companies or advertisers. It's up to you whether or not any of your favorites lists are public.

We also collect IP addresses each time a vote is registered from a user account. We use that information to further protect against multiple votes being registered and, if necessary, deny service in accordance with our Terms of Service. We may also collect information related to the referring URL, access times, and browser type for statistical analysis. None of this technical information will ever be shared in detail with third parties, although it may be summarized for business analysis reporting.

Protecting Your Account

Your account is protected with the password that you've chosen at either the signup screen or when changing your password in the My Account module. No Squibbles moderators, administrators, or developers ever have access to your password. Your password is encrypted using one-way encryption technology and can never be retrieved. If you've forgotten your password then you can have it automatically reset using the Forgotten Password link in our login box. It's up to you keep the password to yourself and to always log out of the website when you're finished using it.

We will never ask you for your password. When signing up for a free account you will not need to provide any information besides your username, E-mail address, and a password. Any E-mails sent to you will come from the @mysquibbles.com domain name. If you receive an email and do not feel comfortable with it, we certainly would like you to verify with us the purpose of the email. Please use our contact form rather than replying to any E-mail.

Never post any private information in Squibbles content that may be seen publicly. Links, comments, articles, blog posts, or forum entries will either be edited or removed by our moderators if they spot any private information.

We regularly make backups of all content in the Squibbles databases to ensure data protection. We make every effort to ensure complete security of our archives. The data will be encrypted and stored in a secure location. We may release personal information when we believe that release is necessary to comply with the law; enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of Squibbles users.

Any information or content Squibbles holds will never be distributed, sold, or transferred to another party. If Squibbles or its assets were acquired user information may be one of the assets that is transferred.

Choices I Have

As stated above you may change any account information that you've submitted except for your username. You may opt out of any Squibbles E-mail content. Automated messages you will receive include a moderation notice if any of your content has been edited or removed by our moderators, any invitations to share favorites lists by other users, and any automated account creation emails. To request a stop on all automated emails you must contact the Squibbles moderators directly. The squibbles moderators will make appropriate changes as soon as possible.

Squibbles may also send out newsletters, new feature bulletins, or similar E-mails. To opt out of such mailings just set your E-mail Preferences to None on your My Account page.

Please contact us to request a removal of your account. Any content that you've submitted will remain on Squibbles but will no longer be associated with your account publicly. Digital archives of user accounts and user activity (content submission and votes) will be kept securely by Squibbles technical staff. This information is kept in regular backup procedures and is maintained for legal reasons.
